“Puss in Boots” casting news

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Galifianakis has landed the role of Humpty Dumpty in the “Shrek” spin-off “Puss in Boots”. He joins confirmed cast members Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in the “Shrek” prequel which is due to hit cinemas in November 2011, a year after “Shrek 4-Ever After”. The real question is, have the “Shrek” films run their course?

Following on from our previous casting news for this movie here, it has been announced that RZA will be joining the cast of Todd Phillips’ 2010 comedy. The film will also star Michelle Monaghan, Robert Downey Jr., Jamie Foxx and Zach Galifianakis and is about a man trying to get back to his hometown so he can be at his wife’s side as she gives birth. Unfortunately things go a bit wrong on the journey back and if he doesn’t get to the hospital quickly, he might lose his woman to another man…

HBO has ordered a second season of comedy “Bored to Death” starring Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson, Olivia Thirlby and Zach Galifianakis. Created by Jonathan Ames, the show focuses on a writer turned private investigator who has constant writer’s block and has averaged between 900,000 and 1.2million viewers.

2010 sees new Todd Phillips comedy Due Date come to our screens and it has added Jamie Foxx to an already impressive cast. He joins Michelle Monaghan, Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in the movie about a man trying to get back to his hometown so he can be at his wife’s side as she gives birth. Unfortunately things go a bit wrong on the journey back and if he doesn’t get to the hospital quickly, he might lose his woman to another man… an old friend.
