Comic illustrator George Tuska has died

Acclaimed comic illustrator George Tuska has passed away after suffering a heart attack aged 93. He worked for many decades with some of the biggest publishers, including, Marvel and DC. He also worked on some of the most well known series of comics, such as Iron Man, The X-Men and Justice League of America whilst he is credited with being the first person to draw Luke Cage.

Lou Albano dies

Wrestling legend Capt. Lou Albano has passed away in a hospice. Famous throughout the wrestling world as one of the greatest managers of all time, he was also paired with Tony Altimore in a tag team that went on to become WWF United States champions. He managed over a dozen teams to world tag team titles and got a place in the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996. This was followed by a place in the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum earlier this year.

Al Martino dies

Singer Al Martino has died aged 82 in Philadelphia from what is believed to be natural causes. Most famous for his title track for the movie “The Godfather” (in which he also played Johnny Fontane), Martino had a long and largely successful career spanning over 50 years. His hits include “Spanish Eyes”, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “Volare”.

“Evile” bassist Michael Alexander has died

Michael Alexander, bassist for thrash metal band Evile, passed away on October 5 from a suspected blood clot. He was on tour with his band in Sweden at the time.

Mike was 32.

Here is the statement released by his fellow band members:

This is so hard to find the words to express fully how we feel. We can’t believe or accept what’s happened. One minute we’re talking to our buddy, Mike, the next minute we can never speak to him again.

There’s so many things rushing through our heads that we want to say, do and feel. We half expect him to come round the corner and call us ‘dickheads’. We can’t get our heads around it.

It upsets us so much that he was away from his family when this happened, although knowing Mike, we’re at least glad he was on tour doing what he loves.

We’re lost for words. We all miss him so much already. He was such a headstrong, genuinely nice guy who loved music and his family. We’ve got so many brilliant memories with him.

Our hearts go out to his daughter, family and friends at this tragic, difficult time.

Mike is much loved and is sorely missed. Rest in peace, brother.
