“Mushroom Wars” released on PSN

October 15th 2009 sees the release of “Mushroom Wars” for the PSN at a price of $9.99. On Sony’s Official Blog, Scott Hyman, director of Creat Studios posted the following:

Hey everyone! It’s Scott at Creat Studios again, here to tell you about our seventh (yes, seventh!) release for PlayStation Network in 2009. Our new RTS, Mushroom Wars, will be available for $9.99 this Thursday, October 15.

Now, you’re asking, what exactly is Mushroom Wars? Do I have to battle evil, killer mutant zombie mushrooms? Well, as cool as that might sound, (hmmm…maybe there’s a future PSN release!), you don’t battle the mushrooms themselves, but you will do battle for the mushrooms. Mushroom Wars is a fast-paced and accessible RTS, with a quaint, anime-inspired visual style where you send your cute armies into battle, upgrade your mushroom bases, improve your weaponry and fight skirmishes in close-quarter maps.

You can play against the AI or kick your friends’ butts in Campaign mode. The Skirmish mode lets you quickly jump right into battles. Local multiplayer allows up to four players to tough it out to see who’s the baddest army in the meadow.

We’re very excited about Mushroom Wars, and we’re confident that you’ll have a great time. Whether you’re pursuing a full campaign, or in the mood for a quick, five-minute RTS battle to jump-start your morning, Mushroom Wars is simply great fun.

Matt Fraction writing “Iron Man 2″ video game

Matt Fraction, the Eisner Award winning comic writer, has been hired by Sega to write the script for upcoming multi-format video game “Iron Man 2″. The new game will be loosely based on the movie but will feature it’s own original story. The game is due out for DS, Wii, 360, PS3 and PC in June 2010.

“Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing” character news

Due for release on February 24th 2010 for the DS, PS3, 360, Wii and PC there isn’t much we could say to get people excited over what appears to be your standard family racing game but here it is… You’ll be able to play as Ryo Hazuki from the “Shenmue” games. Here’s a couple of screenshots:

Super Street Fighter IV announced

Konami today announced that they will be releasing Super Street Fighter IV for both the PS3 and 360 in the first quarter of 2010. Konami’s Yoshinori Ono told Gamestop that because of the way 8 new fighters will be introduced and how the original game was coded, it is impossible to release the updated game as DLC but if you already own Street Fighter IV, you will be in-store for a special surprise. He also stated the game will have a low retail price and revealed the first two new playable characters as Juri and T-Hawk. More news to come…

Sony announce 250GB PS3 for Europe

Hot on the heels of Microsoft’s announcement of a 250GB hard drive console, Sony has also jumped in and announced the same for the UK… and they will be releasing it first! The first bundle available will be available from October 1st 2009 and will include either Infamous or any two Sony Platinum games. The second bundle will include Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Both bundles will carry recommended retail prices of £284.99.
