“Thor” casting news

Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of “Thor” as Odin, a role that was rumoured to be going to Robert DeNiro just a couple of weeks ago. He joins Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, and Colm Feore as confirmed cast members whilst Jude Law’s status remains unknown. At a screening for “Trick R Treat”, Dylan Baker confirmed to the press that he will be reprising his role as Professor Curt Connors in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. So does this mean we will see Connors’ villainous alter-ego The Lizard in “Spider-Man 4″? Or will we be getting set-up to see him in the fifth movie? You can discuss “Spider-Man 4″ in our forums.

DeNiro and Law to star in “Thor”?

Jude Law and Robert DeNiro are rumoured to have joined the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Marvel superhero movie; ‘Thor’. Speculation is that DeNiro might be up for the role of Thor’s daddy, Odin. Involvement by Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, and Colm Feore has previously been confirmed.

Marvel no longer going to Disney?

Earlier this month it was announced that Disney would likely be buying Marvel for around $4billion in cash and stocks after the boards at both companies gave the go-ahead. Unfortunately for Disney, this take-over could be harder work than they originally planned following reports such as this one from New York Times that Jack Kirby’s heirs have sent 45 notices of copyright termination to the majority of major Hollywood movie companies. More news as the story unfolds (which could literally take years)…
