Fox order more episodes of “The Cleveland Show”

According to a report at TV Guide, Fox have ordered up the second half of Season 2 before Season1 is even halfway through. This brings the total amount of episodes up to 35. Created by Seth McFarlane, Rich Appel and Mike Henry, “The Cleveland Show” is a spin-off based on a character from “Family Guy”. “Family Guy” was originally cancelled after three seasons until strong DVD sales and hoardes of fans successfully convinced Fox to bring it back. With Fox’s history of cancelling shows, ordering so many episodes in advance when the show only debuted on 27th September 2009 is a surprise to everyone.

J.J. Abrams to develop medical comedy for Fox

The Wrap have today announced that J.J. Abrams (Fringe, Alias, Star Trek) is set to produce a new half hour comedy show set against a medical backdrop. He will be producing the show with Bryan Burke (Lost), whilst Mike Markowitz (Becker) is set to pen the script for the pilot episode. How will it compare to Scrubs? We’ll have to wait and see…

Fox orders more episodes of “Glee”

Fox have ordered an additional nine episodes of musical comedy Glee after the show premiered to 7.14million viewers beating Criminal Mind and Wipeout and continued to perform well despite the fact it was up against the finale of “America’s Got Talent” on NBC last week. The additional nine episode order will mean 22 episodes in total for the first season.
