Spider-Man 4 (2011)

From CinemaSpy:
Producer Todd Black gave the New York Post some exclusive details about the plans for Spider-Man 4. And while Kirsten Dunst is definitely returning, he told the paper that Morbius is not the villain. As you may recall, Sam Raimi hinted that the vampire might be the villain during a recent interview, but we stressed then that his body language was hardly proof positive, and possibly just misdirection.

Misdirection it was, it would seem. Black shot that speculation down, stating that it's completely false. Which, of course, begs the question: who will the villain be? "We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now," he told the Post. "We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York."

I loved the first 2 and thought the third was still a very enjoyable above average movie. Can't wait for this.

I'm definitely looking forward to this too. I didn't dislike S-M3 nearly as much as a lot of others seem to, although it is clearly the weak link in the series. I would've really liked for Morbius to be the villain in this one but there are still some other good Spidey villains they can use. Seeing as Venom was in the last one, I wouldn't be surprised to see Carnage play some kind of a role in S-M4.

I doubt that Carnage will be brought in. If anything, he'd come into the Venom spinoff they want to do.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I am looking forward to this one as well.

They just should have let this series be over with the second one.

Agreed on the 3rd, I think the main reason it hit such a bad rap was due to not being nearly as good as the first two.

too many villains... the Harry/Greengoblin 2 deserved his own movie, not to be 3rd fiddle to Sandman and Venom.

Harry Goblin and Sandman would've been just fine but Venom felt like it was shoehorned into the story. That stupid emo dance number just brought the film to a grinding halt. Other than that it was fine. I look forward to a fourth film as I suspect (or at least I hope) they'll have learned from their mistakes.

I'm not sure if I should be more concerned that #4 is proceeding after the mixed feelings of #3... or that they already have #5 and #6 planned no matter how #4 turns out.

If negotiations proceed according to plan, Malkovich will be playing Spider-Man’s nemesis the Vulture, who packs a punch despite his advanced age. The Vulture is able to fly through the air and brandish his sharp wings to attack Spider-Man.

Why no Lizard?

we hear that the suits simply can’t bring themselves to sign off on such an odd-looking enemy — instead, they’d rather hew closer to villains with a human face.
