Nickelodeon parent company, Viacom, has acquired all rights to the “Ninja Turtles” franchise for $60m. One of the most popular children’s TV shows ever with massive ratings during the 80’s, the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” have had somewhat of a failed revival in recent times with a new series of cartoons, a couple of video games and a CGI movie, “TMNT”, in 2007. Viacom plan to release a new TV show in 2012 along with a new movie.
