The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority have banned UEG Music’s advert for the album that releases material from before Leona Lewis won X Factor, Best Kept Secret. The ASA’s statement includes the following reasoning:
Although we acknowledged that the CD itself was ‘new’, we considered that the claim ‘Leona Lewis’s new album’ misleadingly implied it was the singer’s latest recording rather than a new CD of tracks recorded some years ago.
UEG music will now have to review their publicity campaign.
